What the control is telling you
The outdoor fan motor is not running or its speed cannot be controlled.
Applies to: DLCURAH18-60 AAK/ABK single-zone heat pump outdoor units (18K-60K, regular and High Heat)
Likely causes
- Fan blade blocked by ice, debris or obstruction
- Fan motor connector loose
- Failed DC fan motor
- Outdoor board fan driver fault
Test and repair steps
- Warning: Turn off and lock out power at the outdoor disconnect and wait for the inverter capacitors to discharge before touching the outdoor board or compressor wiring.
- Check that the fan turns freely and is not blocked by ice, snow or debris; clear the coil and fan area.
- Reseat the fan motor plug on the outdoor board.
- Inspect the fan motor wiring for damage.
- Restart and watch the fan; replace the fan motor if it will not run with a good connection, otherwise suspect the outdoor board.
