LED2 green 1 flash Refrigerant leak sensor communication failure
What the control is telling you
The fan drive board has lost communication with the A2L refrigerant sensor for 2 minutes, or the sensor is faulty. The Y (cooling) signal is cut, so cooling stops.
Applies to: Midea BGH96M 96% AFUE two-stage gas furnaces (060B3A, 080B3A, 080C4A, 100C5A, 100D5A, 120D5A) with A2L refrigerant leak sensor on CN30 (fan drive board LED2)
Likely causes
- Sensor cable loose or not plugged into CN30
- Damaged sensor cable
- Failed refrigerant sensor
Test and repair steps
- Check the refrigerant sensor cable is fully seated in CN30 on the fan drive board.
- Inspect the sensor cable for damage along its run to the coil.
- Confirm SW1-2 on the drive board is ON (sensor installed).
- If the connection is good and the fault remains, replace the sensor (contact distributor - sensor is supplied under the coil manufacturer label).
